Research on high-precision processing technology and analysis of difficulties of beverage bottle preform mold

Publish Time: 2024-12-17
High-precision processing of beverage bottle preform mold is essential to ensure the quality and production efficiency of beverage bottles.

First of all, the selection of mold materials is the basis of high-precision processing. High-quality steel, such as pre-hardened plastic mold steel, is usually selected. This type of steel has good cutting performance and stability, and can maintain dimensional accuracy during processing. However, its high hardness poses a challenge to the wear resistance and toughness of the processing tool. During rough processing, the tool needs to have a strong cutting ability to quickly remove the excess; while during fine processing, the tool edge sharpness and precision are extremely high to ensure the surface finish and dimensional accuracy of the mold.

Secondly, the precision and stability of the processing equipment are key factors. High-precision CNC machining centers are the main equipment for beverage bottle preform mold processing. The positioning accuracy and repeatability of its coordinate axes must be controlled within a very small range, generally at the micron level. For example, when processing the cavity and core of the mold, a slight deviation of the equipment may cause uneven wall thickness of the preform, affecting product quality. Moreover, vibration control during processing is also very important. Excessive vibration will cause relative displacement between the tool and the workpiece, reducing processing accuracy.

In terms of processing technology, the reasonable selection of cutting parameters is a major difficulty. The cutting speed, feed rate and cutting depth need to be accurately matched according to the mold material, tool material and processing requirements. Too high a cutting speed may cause the tool to wear more or even break, while too low a cutting speed will affect the processing efficiency. For example, when finishing the cavity surface, in order to obtain a good surface finish, a smaller feed rate and cutting depth are required, but this will increase the processing time.

The processing accuracy of the mold parting surface is extremely high. The flatness and fit of the parting surface directly affect the mold quality and flash of the preform. During the processing, special process methods such as multiple grinding and polishing are required to ensure that the accuracy of the parting surface meets the requirements. At the same time, for some complex-shaped parting surfaces, the processing programming is difficult and needs to be optimized with the help of advanced CAD/CAM software.

The processing of the cooling system is also a key and difficult point. The cooling efficiency of the beverage bottle preform mold has a significant impact on the production cycle and product quality. The diameter, shape, spacing and depth of the cooling water channel need to be accurately designed and processed. During the processing, the smoothness and sealing of the water channel must be ensured to prevent water leakage. Moreover, the distance between the cooling water channel and the mold cavity also needs to be strictly controlled to achieve uniform and effective cooling.

In addition, mold inspection and quality control are indispensable. High-precision three-coordinate measuring instruments and other inspection equipment are used to comprehensively inspect the dimensional accuracy, shape accuracy and surface quality of the mold. During the processing, it is necessary to adjust the processing technology and parameters in time according to the test results to ensure the high-precision requirements of the final mold.

The high-precision processing of beverage bottle preform mold faces many difficulties in materials, equipment, processes, parting surfaces, cooling systems and inspections. Only by comprehensively considering and solving these problems can the high-precision processing of beverage bottle preform mold be achieved to meet the beverage industry's demand for high-quality preform molds.
